CDCS | 2016 | Television, Entertainment
As an avid lover of The Flash and other hit TV shows, I created a YouTube channel called "CDCS" in which I create edits about TV show characters and relationships. I absolutely love storytelling and creating meaning within these edits. I've gained an audience of over 60K subscribers, with 6 videos reaching millions of views. One of my major highlights is getting to collaborate with other content creators within the same niche.
Digital growth strategy:
A case study in personal brand development
This section showcases my personal YouTube channel (2016 — present), which served as a real-world laboratory for developing and implementing effective digital growth strategies. Through this experience, I honed my skills in audience analysis and segmentation, content creation and optimization, community building and engagement, trend forecasting and adaptation, along with data analysis and performance tracking.
This YouTube channel is centered around The Flash (2014) TV show and cultivated a community of 64K+ subscribers and achieved over 23M+ views. My strategy emphasizes authentic content, audience engagement, and cross-platform promotion.
Community engagement strategies
My community engagement strategy focused on timely interaction across platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Reddit), creating content aligned with audience preferences (i.e. using music the audiences enjoy), and fostering a positive and inclusive environment. This involved responding to comments, creating shoutout videos, and collaborating with other creators.
Campaign: The Flash | Bloopers VS Actual Scenes
This series of videos, capitalizing on a popular trend, achieved significant engagement. The titles are SEO-optimized for YouTube discoverability; these videos will appear when searching “The Flash bloopers” on YouTube and Google.
These videos were highly relevant, shareable, and had a long shelf-life.

Cross-platform promotion
To expand reach and engage with audiences on other platforms, I created edits for Instagram and Twitter, using Adobe After Effects and adapting to popular trends to the TV show fandom.
Community relations
I strategically collaborated with influencers, such as Evelyn Jackson, a fan editor who has 890K subscribers. I actively worked to foster a positive and inclusive environment within the fandom by creating content that promoted racial inclusion, engaging with comments, and supporting other creators. This improved the fandom's reputation and strengthened my brand. An audience member's comment, which received over 1K likes, illustrates this impact, stating that I was 'able to tune out the hate and negativity and create such amazing content':

My overall strategy included cross-promotion, trend monitoring, and online reputation management to build a strong community and enhance the channel's image.
